Reply CursedBluto, February 7th, 2009, 3:25 pm

What's so bad about photoshop shading, exactly?

Reply RenTech, February 7th, 2009, 3:43 pm

While I don't exactly know the diffrence i'll assume it's garbage.

Reply CursedBluto, February 7th, 2009, 4:00 pm

Because you're REALLY the expert about shading.

Reply CursedBluto, February 7th, 2009, 4:09 pm

If it looks better, why care? Similar skills are applied.

Reply RenTech, February 7th, 2009, 6:38 pm

I just read these comments and i'll assume that was an insult bluto.

Reply CursedBluto, February 7th, 2009, 6:41 pm

No, it was a thinly-veiled compliment.

I dont see why it is looked down apon by spriters, if you know how the tools work and what they do, it could be a spriters best friend, altho I still prefer to do my recolors and edits and scratch sprites manualy in paint. I just find that photoshop does better shading then I could ever do in paint. It still takes as long to do, for me anyway, because I need to get it exactly the way I want it, but whatever other people like is up to them I guess. :D

Reply MysticDragon234, February 8th, 2009, 12:12 am

Not really. People who sprite for video game companys probably use something like photoshop. Take pokemon diamond for example. 493 pokemon to sprite, times that by 2 for the second frame, all the maps, items, trees, people, all of that stuff. Anyone would go mad trying to do all that, just in a basic program like paint. Im sure that they use things that make spriteing easyer.

true

but in amature spriting its stupid

get skills to sprite with paint freaking noob

Reply MysticDragon234, February 8th, 2009, 12:49 am

The whole thing was done in paint, exept for the shading. Woopie freekin do, I shaded in photoshop v_v'.

Reply RenTech, February 8th, 2009, 1:38 am

well...to be honest the only thing that looks even slightly difficult is the hair.

Reply MysticDragon234, February 8th, 2009, 10:24 am

Ok whatever this took be hours to get it the way I wanted but I guess I must completely suck :/

Reply MysticDragon234, February 8th, 2009, 11:47 am

^w^ Thanks.

That Hedgehog managed to get into this comic. No big accomplishment.

Reply RenTech, February 8th, 2009, 12:23 pm

I don't think the person who accepted "That Hedgehog" looked at his work. Most likely cuz he didn't have any.

A Bowser Chao would be pretty cool.

I recommend doing Dark Bowser and Dry Bowser.
